Safety awareness training

Purpose

To ensure all Clean Plus Elkton team members are equipped to recognize and respond appropriately to potential safety concerns while working in schools, daycares, and community facilities.

1. Understanding Your Role

While Clean Plus Elkton does not provide security services, our presence in sensitive environments means we must remain alert, respectful, and responsive. Your role includes:

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming space

  • Supporting the facility’s existing safety protocols

  • Acting with professionalism and discretion at all times

“Safety is not a gadget but a state of mind.” – Eleanor Everet

2. Situational Awareness

Team members should remain observant during every shift. This includes:

  • Noticing individuals who appear out of place or are not recognized by staff

  • Being aware of unusual behavior, unattended items, or restricted access violations

  • Staying alert in high-traffic or transitional areas like entrances, hallways, and restrooms

3. Responding to Concerns

If you notice something suspicious or concerning:

  • Do not engage directly with the individual or situation

  • Alert designated facility personnel immediately (e.g., administrator, security officer)

  • Follow site-specific procedures as outlined during onboarding or orientation

  • Document the concern if required, using the appropriate communication channel

4. Emergency Situations

In the event of a serious incident (e.g., lockdown, evacuation):

  • Follow the facility’s emergency protocol without hesitation

  • Prioritize your safety and the safety of those around you

  • Remain calm, clear-headed, and cooperative with staff and emergency responders

5. Ongoing Training & Communication

If a Clean Plus Elkton team member ever feels uncertain, observes something unusual, or senses that something isn’t right, they are expected to be proactive and speak up. Taking action helps protect the spaces we serve—and reinforces the trust our clients place in us every day.

  1. Staying Current. Staying Prepared. Clean Plus Elkton Training Safety Guide

At Clean Plus Elkton, our training safety guide is continuously updated to reflect the latest protocols and proven precautions. As community needs and societal conditions evolve, our team remains informed through ongoing training and clear communication. We believe that staying prepared means staying proactive—because awareness and readiness are essential to protecting the spaces where people live, learn, and gather.
